Bearskin Services to Provide Department of Energy Cyber-Security and Technology Support

Bearskin Services (Bearskin), a 100% tribally-owned, SBA Certified 8(a) company and an established supplier of IT & Telecom products and services, is pleased to announce it has secured a $16.5 million contract to provide Information Technology and Public Affairs Office Support Services for the Department of Energy’s (DoE) Southwest Power Administration (SWPA) facilities in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas. Bearskin technicians will deliver Tier I-III desktop, cyber security, system engineering, and public affairs office support.

Bearskin is responsible for managing local- and wide-area networks at SWPA’s three locations, providing WAN/LAN connectivity support 24/7, and designing and implementing communication networks. Bearskin Services Awarded Two Government Contracts

Bearskin Services, a 100-percent tribally-owned and SBA Certified 8(a) company, was awarded a $7 million contract with the U.S. Army in Fort Carson, Colo., and a $5.5 million contract with the U.S. Air Force at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi.

“Our highly qualified IT and telecommunications technicians in the field, bolstered by 20 years of Federal contracting experience, is the basis of our success,” said Katie Thompson, Contracts Manager for Bearskin Services. “Developing a winning proposal takes a dedicated team, technical expertise, and a positive attitude.”


For the Fort Carson facility, Bearskin technicians will provide Tier I, II, and III support, Video Teleconferencing Services, Operation Center Services, Facility Engineer Services, System Administration, and Database Administration Services.

For the Columbus facility, Bearskin will provide for the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the Base Network and Telephone Systems (BNTS), including all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, and supervision to ensure systems are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
